the football bookies

The footballers run
The ball on the field
They chase and fall
They suffer injuries
Then it is gone
The life of the footballers
Only the physically fit will go
The pay isn't much to talk
For the love of the game
They shoulder on

The dream of good life
They see how the foreign clubs do
The footballers get millions and publicity
Endorsements set them up for life
The best years of their lives
They are showered with gifts and travel in styles
Here in local leagues nothing much to shout
The players run sweat all over their bodies
What do they get end of their times?

They get dues late
Sometimes they have to beg
No wonder they try to catch in
With bookies who offer them cash
The young footballers know the drawbacks
With large amount of money influencing their minds
The dream of a good life
They see how the foreign clubs do
The footballers get millions and they get peanuts

Can we blame them?
When the associations never change
We never know the true reasons
The young footballers did as they had done
It's about money it isn't about the beautiful game
It's like a work earning big bucks with the short time
Can we say they are wrong?
When they don't have much to look forward to
When the playing days are over in a short spell
