the frogs are real

borrowed www.flickr.com(cas lad)

The frogs are real
Croaking in the pond
Eyes winking staring
Never tell what they will do

Passersby don’t look
They hurry to seek their glory
The frogs staring at them
Until the shadows disappear

People talk about the frogs
In the cafes, coffershops and mamak stalls
Downing on their teh tarik
“Have you heard the frogs will walk?”

Only the power hungry leaders
They ignore such talk
They don’t believe the frogs will walk
They think they have the power
And the machinery to whet their desires

Oh yeah the frogs turn into princes
Don’t we learn in folklore?
The frogs in the pond
They are real; they are croaking
Some already walking
Others waiting for the final whistle
Then the bad night will be gone

The frogs are real
When the full moon shines
The season of merrymaking arrives
The people sing dancing on the streets
