a joy ride never was

A joy ride
On the roads
15 years old boy
No licence driving family car

He thought he did right
Cruising in morning at 2
Without car driving licence
What he was doing?

Police patrol car saw
The crime prone areas
The police gave chase
The 15 years old sped away

Along the way shots were fired
The car banged into a tree
The young 15 years old boy died
His life and dreams disappeared that night

The public outcry
The police too trigger happy
Shooting to kill seem the motto
A 15 years old wasn't the first

The police could shoot the car's tyres
They should do what is necessary to stop the car
Taking life should be the last defence
It shouldn't be the ultimate aim of crime prevention

Now the public anger
The police hasn't learned its damage control
Too many deaths in the hands of police
In police custody and on the streets

Know your job
Prevention to stop crime
It isn't to take lives
Be human as life is at stake
