the fortune changes 1

wheel of fortune

The two black dogs
Laying in the cool shade
Of the house they live
Tongue protruding leaking saliva
Hungry look in its eyes
Searching around the images
As its eyes move in direction

The years have taken its toll
On them chasing around the neighborhood
Of the other dogs roaming into its territory
Barking and fighting to control boundary line

Once they lived in luxury
In a house full of richness
They didn't have to chase and bark
They were showered with servants

They were the talked of the town
They walked proud amongst the canine fraternity
They showed how powerful they were
Good food good home and environment

They were the best in the neighborhood
Every child and adult recognizing them
The canine breed of impeccable position
Living in luxury in a house full of richness

They thought their world could never end
They bathed in its glory of time then
In the compound they played around
They didn't have to mix with outside animals

They were the guard dogs and obedient servants
Protecting the house and the owner's families
Occasionally they would bark loudly.......
It was to tell the other dogs in the neighborhood

Time passed quickly
Within 5 years fortunes changed
The owner lost most of his businesses
Through bad planning, greed and corruption

The law finally caught up with the owner
He was hauled to face his music...........
He was sentenced to a long term imprisonment
Leaving his business in ruins

The owner's families had to sell
Whatever assets obtained legally
The shame that befallen on them
They sold everything and moved away

The two black dogs
They were assigned to their fate
The neighbor took them in
They felt pity on the animals

The dogs thought about it
The years of good life finally ended
Now sitting up smelling of food
They aren't proud as they used to do

Now in the hands of the sadistic new owner
They are canned at times for being slow
Sometimes they have to poo in the garden
That too they get canned for dirtying it

They wish their lives never changed
Of the good years smelling of good food
Now they suffered the indignity of living
There is no proper place for them to bed in

At night they howl waking up the owner
The quiet night becomes canning experiment
The owner comes with a cane
Canning them to keep them in tow

In the darkness of the night
They cry with tears flowing
Thinking why fortune changes
They were living like little kings

Now what they have become?
A pathetic sight scavenging for a living
They hope to run away
They have enough of it already

The neighborhood's dogs walk by
They stand by the gate and whisper..
“Now you can't be proud
You live like slave”

“Go away and leave us alone
We know our failing and our fortune
You don't have to rub it in
Let us live in peace for a change”
