the kangkong

borrowed malaysiakini.com

The black knight galloping away
Into the hinterland of hills and trees
He never dares to look back
He rides his horse into the green

He is afraid of what he had done
The promises he fails to keep in his soul
Every night he dreams of the dreadful fall
He tosses in his bed of satin sheets

Near the waterfall in the woods
He ties his black horse and dismounts
Walking to the waterfall he washes his face
Feeling hungry he scouts around in the light

He finds row of kangkong
Along the long stream flowing through
He bends down to pluck off a few branches
Taking it along he builds fire and boil

When it is done
He eats and feeds his hunger
In no time he feels he has rested
Take his black horse and gallops away

He remembers his kangkong
He can't forget the luxury life he has
The black knight gallops away
Dreaming of a time he can have it all

Now he is afraid
The voices catching into his head
The wind of breezes ringing in his ears
He tries to chase it away but he fails
