the cat and the rats

The cat and the rats
Running in circle
Turning pages crafting new sights
The hit and run game
The cat gets hit badly
Meowing away in silent protest
The underground holes the rats survive
Bidding for the time to hit again
Telling the cat “don't look so surprise!”

The rats swim on the islands
Around the tilt houses on the water
The rats can hide perfectly normal
Knowing very well the cat can't swim
Afraid of the water living fear in its eyes
So the rats hold fort in its perfectly buffer zones
Living incognito until the next raid

The cat watches every day
Listening to the waves of water flow
Around the beaches and coastal shores
Eyes focus mind so far away..
The hit and run rats
They will swim ashore in silence

The cat may fall sleep
In the afternoon heat
The bad hats will pass messages
The rats will return laughing at will
The cat opens its eyes to see
The rats dancing on the planks

The temptation is great
The rats on the planks
But the cat knows the risk
The rats on the edge of the wood
One mistake the cat will realize
Dropping into the water
