We spend our life saving

On our homes we purchase

Thinking that will be long term investment

When our lives are spent

The pride in our eyes

When we finally make the cut

The new homes to live by

No more paying rent

We never think of the future

Of the ground which may give way

The housing developer never says

So will the approving authorities

We believe we will stay

The homes will remain on in our lives

But nightmares do happen

The ground gives way

Now the pieces of our lives

It will start all over again

Some can't get on with it
