The government should lease it

To the farmers to boost agricultural produce

Instead of letting it idle earning no economic returns

In the past the farmers toiled the land

Some for decades farming for a living

Until the government took and sold it

Without considering the farmers plight

There were many cases in public view

The farming land should assist the nation needs

But the poor eye sight of managing leaders

Causing the nation imports of food to rise sharply

Now with the Middle East conflict

The idle land should be leased to the farmers

Let these interprising individuals help the nation

There is no way for short term gain
