the middle ground

The moderates and extremists
They are the intellectual groups
Moving in opposite direction
The nation will just sip “teh tarik”

The lower groups of society
They are fighting to feed the families
Finding jobs to tide the woes
They don't have time to quarrel

The middle class groups
They feel comfortable but with fear
Finding ways to run away
But everywhere can be the same

So they hedge their bets
On the moderate stand they go
Believing that's the best policy
We are Malaysians after all

But extremists think otherwise
They think they are the majority
They can do what they like
The core values of the Constitution

Now they think they have the opportunity
The Islamic militants running wild in other nations
Branding their kind of military Islam to the fore
But they forget God's law belong to God!

The middle ground should be the way
The decades of living peacefully
Why want to create issues out of it?
When the country is Secular
