we are on the middle road

The broken dreams
They escaped from their homeland
They came where the opportunities were
They gave their best they became citizens

In the land of opportunities
They worked with sweat and tears
Building up a footing they called home
Living on the land they came

Generations down the road
Some prospered in their ventures
Some fell on the wayside of lost dreams
They didn't go back home afraid of losing faces

New flag emerged independence came
They worked hard for it living in harmony
The adopted land became their home
Where they settled down raised families

Everything was fine for decades
Until the bigots and extremists hit the gong
These minor groups forgot about history
They thought they are the only ones living

Here we are on the middle road
East or West knocking the heads
This is our home what else is new?
We will fight back on the land we were born
