the unsound chinese guy

The unsound Chinese guy

He sat in the hawker's center at night

Sandwiched between chairs and tables

He sat there drumming a lion dance beat

He is a regular feature

In the old town day and night

He doesn't disturb anybody

He is practically in his world

Sometimes his family takes him back

A good rub down hair cut and clean cloth

Before long he is back in his old haunt

Smiling and dreaming out his world

Yesterday I saw him

Drumming it on an empty tin

The sound of correct beats

He could beat his sound...

In the night

The sound of soothing beats

Maybe he found something else to do

Then watching and dreaming away
