the jilted lover

Once there was
This middle aged woman
Walking around town
She was unkempt carrying her bag

I saw her years ago
When I was back for my working holidays
She would walk around town
Walking under the walk ways

She would stay around taxi stand
Sometimes she would be at the bus stop
All the while she was eagerly waiting
The man who never showed...

I heard the story
She was getting ready to elope
On that day and time
Ticket bought bag packed

She waited for her man
He never turned up...
The woman got miserable
She was jilted big time

She flipped her mind
The years gone by quickly
She carried her bag
Looking for her man

Years run quickly
Now I don't see her anymore
Maybe she has passed on
Taking with her sorrow and pain
