the waves of storm

borrowed abc.net.au

The waves of storm
We have seen reports
People died on its way
The destruction of properties
Nothing to bargain
Nothing to save
When the storm came
Deaths would be the price to pay

Have we learned lessons?
Apparently we forget
We aren't on the storm harm way
We are protected by nature
The things we see
The things we do
The rivers and drains clogged
The flash floods warning us

We just take it along
As if it is the normal thing to do
We will complain loudly
Yet we don't learn our lessons
We still keep our old habits
The children see the children do
As they grow older the habits never throw

We pray for the lost souls
In our neighbouring countries we read reports
The storm of havoc and destruction
Lives and properties lost in its wake
