the cats at the alley

The cats at the alley
They run free no owner to claim
They stare at the pigeons
They ignore the domestic birds

They will snooze at any place
As long as they can find shade
Under the trees shade or bushes
In the compound of homes nearby

At the hour of feeding
They will run to where the food is
Every cat will take it
Leaving some crumbs for the late arrivals

One cat will wait
At the porch or patio
The food which will be served
At the time of the feeding

Once the cat has taken his full
He will walk away saying no thank you
The cats always think humans are their slaves
We have to feed them when the time has arrived
