the darkness run 6

The customers come
Eyes hollow mouth pink
Saliva flowing dreaming of it
Hanging around waiting

The China cats drawing them
The smell bringing them hungry
All eager all need to taste
Of the fruit drawing in thousands

The lucrative business
The China cats pulling crowds
You feel so tired working on it
Then the blue gang arrives

They want money
They want a share
The illegals quickly pack up and run
Into different directions wanting to be free

The blood thirsting gang
It's money on hard earned cash
They take it without a wink
They know they run the show

The licences under counter money
“You help me, I help you” tag line
Openly display afraid of no wolves
Time to roll before all is gone

You jump over the steel fence
Injured your leg fall into a big hole
Struggling to get up but you don't
Into another venture the ceiling fall

The stadium worth millions
Collapsing on poor workmanship
Cronies contracts work cut corners
Ultimately the State loses; the people's money

You get up with cuts and bruises
The tangle steels, mortars and sands
You stand to watch and wonder
What the government is doing?

They sleep on their jobs
Owning money on illegal borrowing
The civil servants undoing; the political greed
The debris of wastage lay bare on the ground
