the papaya trees

Once the papaya trees stood
Standing tall in the neighbour's garden
The months it took to grow to the height
Bearing fruits displaying to the eyes

The constant dark clouds and strong wind
One day it was tilted and fell to one side
One papaya tree leaned against the balcony wall
Holding it for its dear life

The owner didn't do anything
He left the papaya tree leaned on it
Maybe it was the papayas
He didn't want to lose

Now the leaning papaya tree
It knows it is time to go
How long it has to lean on the balcony wall?
Maybe a month or two before it falls
