black dog runs
Around
the neighbourhood
Sniffing
his way here and there
Waxing
his nose on pillars and walls
The
guard dog in the neighbourhood
Self
appointed to chase away other dogs
He
wants to be the sole guardian
No
outside dogs to intrude his space
The
dog shit on the back lane
The
marks of other dogs as well
Leaving
stench for a while
Back
lane cooking some will do
The
pigeons on the rooftops
Clustered
around smelling the food
The
black dog doesn't bother them
As
he runs along minding his own business
