the green grasshopper

The big green grasshopper
Hanging satisfied on the bamboo branch
Stationed high up feeling its world
Of many colours and lights

It ate for free
The leaves around the garden
It didn't have to pay
It destroyed the living leaves

I looked up at the grasshopper
It didn't want to fly
Looking ever confident on the bamboo branch
Maybe thinking nobody could touch it

I took a long thin cane
I had only a chance to hit it
I hit it with a force
It landed on the ground

It was in a daze
I took a scissor and cut it into parts
Let the grasshopper to get reborn
Into a better life elsewhere
