we were young once

We were young once
Everything seemed like heaven
Watching the stars and moon
There was no worry or money

We played the games
The children would in the free times
There was no internet but hobbies
In the playground of the minds

Those were the years
The mind in heaven
We didn’t see the fear
We didn’t see the abandonment

We were young once
We could smile of the free
We could jump up with joy
We were confident in our lives

Now we have grown up
The easy-going life of the young
We had forgotten the memories
We forgot about the joy and freedom

We don’t know how to play our games
Wake up in the morning back home at night
It is always work and work and more work
We face the hardship of trying to fix in

We close our eyes
Bring us back to the age of the young
The carefree world we could fly
We were young once
