the banana trees 4

pokok pisang muda

The banana trees

Green with yellow light

The moonlit night glow

The many shadows

The silence in the night

The dark shadows move

They blend in with the surrounding

They slowly go into the banana trees

The soft breezes running along

Carrying on with its normal routine

The dogs stop barking in the farm house

As the moon light casting her smiling rays

The farmer surveys around his farm

He can't say a word to his children

With his binocular he conducts his run

The moon light helps him to peep through

His eyes rest on the banana trees

The steady row and row of the shadows

He holds his binocular for a longer period

He thinks he sees a smiling face in the night

"Dad why are you sweating?

Yeah Dad why in the cool night?"

"You don't know what I saw tonight

It will be hard to reconcile the fact"

The eldest daughter takes the binocular

Scanning the farm she finds nothing peculiar

She trains her eyes on the banana trees......

She seems to think she sees her mother's face

She passes back the binocular

"So there is nothing to be seen?"

"I don't know Dad in this moon light

It seems my mother is smiling to me!"
