the workers stand

borrowed from malaysiakini.com

The workers stand
Under the hot sun
With banners and placards
Telling Amno baru
Enough is enough

The converging of colourful groups
They don't think of race or what have you
They think of economic senses
The pockets lighter than before
Though Amno baru claims
Prices will drop!”

Go ask the people
They are the ones feeling the pinch
Of a tax burdening the people
Across the board rich and poor
Is this the caring way to go?
Is this the way to fill up the coffer?

The heat beat the workers
Over 20,000 gathered in Kuala Lumpur
They don't back down with solidarity in the air
On a common goal get Bee Anne out!
The party has stayed its welcome

When the workers dispersed
The police called the organizers
As usual the critics and opponents
Spending time in police lock-up
Eventhough the police gave the greenlight

What now people?
The 47% should wake up
Don't stay your heads in the sand
Seeing nothing hearing no noise
Do you realize your pockets are lighter now?
