pocket full of holes

Now there is shortage of cooking oil in the country. Mind you this commodity is a controlled item yet the people are now facing shortage of cooking oil. The minister ordered a limit of 5kg for each person. How stupid! A family can buy as many as he wants by calling husband, wife and children to take one and pay individually. Today in my area the supermarket cooking oil shelves are practically empty. I saw a family came out from the car each carrying a 5kg cooking oil.....The minister must understand profit motives. A company wants to milk money not charity. He has to get this in his head. The cooking oil is a controlled item hence the cooking oil companies will try to create an artificial shortage by producing less. In the long run especially near to festive season, the controlled items will run out of stock. The government is always on the business sectors so the people will pay. Of course in the beginning the government will order the companies to step up productions but the companies will run slowly in its production lines. Eventually the price of cooking oil will be increased..............and magically the shortage will be disappeared. Chinese New Year is about 30 days away. Time to milk more profits anyway. The enforcement officers should visit all the hawker stall operators because they will increase their prices without any justification. Currently a small plate of kuey teow at my place has gone up from $1.80 to $2.00 and ice chinese tea has gone up to $0.40 previously $0.30 and even hot water previously served free now charged at $0.30. Dont forget about the toll charges and petrol increases.......................it is coming on the way. The crude oil is now hovering at US$100 per barrel.......time we take stock of petrol price increases soon. It may cost $2.50/litre And the election will be delayed. The BN government will lose heavily if the election is held in March. Dont forget about the sex tape involving the ex-health minister. It is a dent on the present government. There is much to do to correct the bad impression by the people. It won't help much with the inefficient pm who doesnt have the pulse of the country's economy.
