STAR RATING WHAT WILL IT BE?

Star rating for local councils. This is considered a good move to let the people vote the performances of these local councils. But I have my doubts here. As with all the committees announced by the BN led government, there are always the setbacks. The conducting of the rating will be done by the government own officials. These officials don't want to rock the boat. They won't give a true and fair view of the performances of the local councils. As Bulbir Singh suggested the rating team must have 50% of the taxpayers living in that locality. In this way the rating can reflect the true potential of the local council officials doing their jobs. It is also justified to hold local council elections. In it the local people can elect the people who can do the jobs. If not, the local people can vote these people out of office. Currently the Yang DiPertua is appointed by the government through its list of government officials. He doesnt take care of the locals. Most of the times these yang dipertua isnt from the local area. When he is inefficient, the locals can't do anything about it. Look at the current law amendments on the housing act. The minister allows the housing developer to choose which way to build the houses for sale - build and sell or sell and build. In the end, the housing developers will just do what they like - sell to build. As reported in Johore there is no taker to build to sell concept. This is the way of BN led government. I use to say the government always support the businessmen. Look at the banks charging their customers. Bank Negara never takes an interest on it. Even the Bank Governor never says anything as yet though it is reported in the press and CAP of Penang. The banks are milking the customers because the government(finance minister and BNM sleeping on their jobs) doesnt take action to control it. As a minister puts it this way - if you dont want to shop at A, go shopping at B. This is the mentality of the sleeping government. The ministers dont know what they are talking about. I think they never go shopping.................so must apply rating to these ministers too
