The middle aged Chinese woman

She sits on the 5 foot way to sleep

I have seen her a few times while I am in town

Sometimes she begs; sometimes she cleans drains

Sometimes I see her cutting grass

Like a good Samaritan she is

Most of the time she will beg for alms

Along the corridor of shops

She doesn't look quite handicapped

She has a bend hand but she isn't invalid

She can easily find a job but she doesn't

Maybe she find begging is much easier

When people pass her by

She will show her hand to say

Most of the time they ignore her

Maybe they know who she is

I am not the local here

I shouldn't know about her background

I only watch what she will do
