The mother lake of our times
It has prospered us with bounties
Of natural resources and prosperity
Living the good life as some will say
Yet we make many stupid decisions
Along the way for many decades
Until we are facing our own troubles
Brewing hot and humid in our souls
We pick the wrong candidates
We pick the wrong party
Now our debts piling high
And they dig more holes
Are we going to let them ruin our lives?
The leeches we pick and it's our own folly
We never learn our lessons but it has to change
Right now before mother lake spooks us for good!
