promises promises promises

Promises promises promises
The word just writing in our minds
The sound of it parading in a row
Hooking it to our daily living

The popular 53% knew
Bee Anne last ditched efforts
The final run to stay on to power
The 47% voted Bee Anne to the chair

This 47% got hooked to the promises
Believing they could get the rewards
Sacrificing long term for short term gains
Now they feel they got cheated big time

The costs of rising living
The sugar, electricity, tolls
GST and losing disposal income
The empty pockets will tell

The 47% what now?
They don't listen now don't cry
They have to change their minds
When GE14 comes along

Now we are going to suffer
The years before the next election
The rural folks should better wake up
Honeymoon is gone long ago
