the toad

The toad on the grass
Squatting there motionless
Waiting patiently for insects
Under the shade of light

The human's shadow
The toad never wants to jump away
It stays still watching with eyes
There is no alarm to hop and hide

It stays its ground
Eyes looking at the light
The work of patience
The meal in the night

The toad only hops away
When it finds its life is threatened
It will quickly hide in pot or bushy plant
Camouflaged itself away from the predators

The life of patience
The toad can teach a lesson
It can stay motionless
The meal in the night
