yesterday gone

Yesterday climate was cool
Life was easy no racial issues
We could smile and share jokes
Calling names no offences

Yesterday we could sit
On the same table knowing no taboo
Talking loudly without racial tones
We were the happy lot

Now we see a different rule
They talk of race and religion
As if it is the only way to progress
Forgetting the others on the same table

We voted the same party and leaders
Thinking that could be the way
How wrong we were to realize it
They planted the seed of religion and race

Yesterday gone
Tomorrow a headache
As we sit and sip our coffee
Watching the events
