The black snake
hides
Back to its hole
of darkness
He has tasted defeat
He runs with his
skin intact
The dogs and
cats
Chasing the
black snake
Watching its
every movement
Waiting to catch
him for good
Though the black
snake stays low
He still crawls
discreetly out from his cave
Luring the
innocents to his calling
Blaming the heat
and the trappers
Though at times
he makes statements
He carries no weight
but a sorry state
Of his life on
the run waiting to be caught
By the dogs and
the cats on the look out
The black snake
hides
In the darkest
pit of shame
Afraid to show
losing in defeat
Counting the days,
he will be in the cage
