The dragon fly
Colours of blue. Green, red or grey
The wings folding biting on the green leave
Stationary of its life
The big eyes of its kind
The dragon fly sees its world going by
Sucking the juices of the green leave
Of the days it will never know
The olden Chinese women will say
Don't catch the dragon flies
Let it goes roaming free
It is your loved ones looking after it
The young children gone
Even before they reach maturity
Death takes them too young
The children's job guarding the dragon flies
I used to catch dragon flies
With sticky latex sticking on them
Tying the dragon flies with strings
Then it flies wanting to get free
Now the dragon flies
You don't see it in the city
Only in the villages where streams flow
And natural flavours still flourishing
