the darkness run 49

The young gathered to listen
The old man tales of blood suckers
Roaming in the crescent moonlight

The old man sits on his rattan chair
Relaxing with his pipe blowing smoke
The young opening eyes starting to imagine
Of magic in the tales.....

“One day” he begins his narration
“There lived a woman in her wooden hut
By the river flowing with natural food
Life for her is free with natural flow”

Some late comers arrive
Interrupting his flow of story
The old man welcomes them
Before he begins his tale

“She has no enemy
Living alone gathering her produce
She has her friends in the woods
The birds, animals and plants

Into them she listens
Singing her songs feeling so free
Listening to the calling wind
Hey woman show us all the way”

“Does she do it old man?”
The old man puts up his hand
“In the forest where she lives
She can do as she pleases

The wind likes to play on her
Teasing her by blowing into her body
Caressing her intimately brushing seductively
Only the woman feeling cold suddenly

On the stream she finds her drinks
The natural flow from the mountain
Filling it up in her wooden container
With nature she feels at peace....

“Why don't you strip take a dip?
Near the stream of rocky stones
The woman plays along in her mind
As she strips naked taking a swim”

“She closes her eyes
Imagining the serenity
Of the forest she is
The silence she can hear

The strong wind blowing
The life flow within
She realizes something is wrong
Too much silence in the forest

She opens her eyes
A man of dark cloth stands
Eyes of red talon fingers raise
She opens her mouth to scream

There is none for her
The dark cloth man walks to her
Lifting her face he bites her neck
In an instant she knows she is gone

The blood sucker pumps her blood
Swallowing it hungrily until she drops
On the ground he puts her to lie
For the shadow of leaves cover her well

When night falls she opens her eyes
What she sees around has changed
She isn't feeling the heat of nature
She feels the need for blood

In the darkness she roams
Waiting for unwary travelers
In the forest only the timber merchants
Taking logs for export

She has her filled
In the darkness of the night
You can hear the cries in the still darkness
Under the bright moon light”

When you go out at night
When you hear the soft calling
You better run for she is right behind
The darkness now is her home

The children get up and go
Leaving the old man smoking his pipe
Then he disappears into the night
For the woman waiting for him
