the marks aren't going away

When it rains
It wets the ground
You think you can avoid
The umbrella to shade

The dancing droplets
It echoes on the ground
By the time you reach dry shade
The trade marks on the soles

You can give sweet coated honey
Let the tasters feel good with it
The behind the scenes tussle
The marks aren't going away

It's the right of the people
The wealth must be given back to them
They help the economy and country grow
You can't give back crumbs

When it rains
The shadows on the ground
You think you can avoid
The marks aren't going away
