The male cats will be busy

They will run from house to house

Meowing in sexual tones

Staring and waiting for the signal

Though they can forget about food

This is the highlight of their lives

Chasing the female cats

The young studs will muscle in

Leaving the older cats staring in protest

Nothing much the older cats can do

They can sit and watch the show

Though the older cats will try to cut in

The female cats will prefer the young studs

They will run from house to house

Chasing after the female cats

The cats will make the houseowners angry

Some will throw water at the cats in protest

“Leave my house go and do elsewhere”

But cats enjoy annoying people

They will think humans are their slaves

So they will not go away so quickly

They will make a comeback quietly

The chasing cats

The heat of the sun

The night of the stars

They will stay chasing

Until the season changes

Then there will be the fighting
