a funeral

A funeral

A departed soul

Breathe his last

While watching TV

He had health issues

For many years he did

Out of hospital recently

Less than a week he was gone

A retired government officer

On retirement he conducted dancing classes

Through the years he produced many dancers

He kept himself fit through his interest

Friends far and near

The dancing students came

A few hundred to pay their last respect

To a man who brought them joy in dancing

In his wake

Relatives, friends and associates came

Meeting up and talk about mundane things

Only to remember the good of the man

A funeral

A place to say hello

Those whom we don't meet for ages

A place to share a common grief
