In democracy we hope

There is respect of equality, freedom of expression and rule of law

In the countries where democracy play a part

In the election there must be equal opportunity to win

If it is a lopsided affair

The ruling party will have the advantage to win

There is no fair play in the voting system

What with phantom voters and illegals voting

In this stage of democracy

The unfairness will bring the grievances

The people will not accept the majority is defeated

By the popular votes cast in the ballot boxes

There are grievances in the election processes

The EC and NRD must be held accountable

For the affairs that breed discontent with the opposition

These officials shouldn't give any silly excuses

In democracy we hope

There is a way to get our wish

The party we hope to manage the Nation

We are angry when issues swept under the carpet
