on a day she knew so well

The gathering of the birthday
On a night of warm faces
The voices of familiar melodies
Of relatives and friends

The birthday girl
She was happy like the wind
The breezing warm the smiling face
On the day she knew so well

The songs put on the screen
The slim princess sung and dance
The songs she could sing a few lines
It was the spirit she wanted to tell

Peter sung and dance
The era of disco and John Travolta
The jiving and circling his hands
The song “I started a joke....”

David didn't want to be left behind
He was singing participating in the mood
Once a band boy never forgets his root
The songs would come naturally

And the backup vocalists
Kathy and Yong made the stage
Backing up the sing a long
The night of birthday girl Janet

Jo and Adeline sipping red wine
Learning the way of party drive
Once a while they might have
Learning a bit of life

The birthday song
The voices sung and smile
The clapping of hands
The candles blew out

The songs played
The singers did the jive
The photography sessions
Then it was time to say goodbye

The night of warm memories
The birthday girl would always remember
The relatives and friends who came
They made the passage of time
