THE FROGS WAITING

The frogs never jump
The pool is cool
Dipping it the frogs decide to stay
Waiting for an opportunity

The rain doesn’t fall
The frogs know it too
The weather is cloudy
Occasionally sun shines
Yet they can feel the coolness
Dipping into the pool

Above the ground
People talking loud
Bicycles, motorbikes and cars
Lorries, buses and aero-planes
Shuttling here everywhere

The frogs pop up eyes
Admiring the scenes
It isn’t time for them
Something doesn’t work out
In the pool the frogs stay
Reluctant to jump

Meetings and cajoling
Many days will come
When the flood season arrives
Maybe something will happen
The frogs may want to jump
