We have too many datuks
Walking on the streets
In the cars in the homes
I think it is time
Don’t give out awards
To anybody
Award the deserving ones
They help the poor and unfortunate
Displaying good public services
Don’t give out to civil servants
And politicians and businessmen
Only when these people retire
Then give them on merit
For the value of their contributions
Helping the people
It is time the Sultans and Governors
Draw up a list of code to award people
For the value and prestige
The awards bestowed on the awardees
Let it be difficult to obtain
Get the shine back on the datukship
For the value and prestige
Else don’t award to anybody
