The city breathes
In the day; in the night
The sunlight then to neon light
Taking the souls winning over

Once you are hooked
The city takes you away
Breathlessly into its deep holes
You will never want to leave

It bleeds you dry
It never falls a tear
As you fall into its web
You are lost in its claws

The city breathes
The magic in your eyes
The neon lights in the night
The city never sleeps

When you are out of money
Poor and destitute in the city
On the pathways begging a living
The city never weeps for you

The web of treasures
The innocents come
