the waves of sorrow

Japan
Devastated Landscape An emergency worker cycles
past debris in Yamada, Iwate Prefecture, March 17, 2011.

The waves of sorrow
Brushing it all along
The coast to coast it whispers
“I brought calamity to many”

The rescue workers and survivors
Gathered around to say prayers
They can't get angry with lost of lives
They pray for strength and forgiveness

The morning sun glimmer of hope
As the snow falling incessantly
The search for victims will be long and tiring
It has to be done to appease the souls

The unwanted debris and souls
Laying naked on both sides of the road
In the harbors in the crowded neighborhood
The waves of sorrow crying never done

Some cyclists passing by
They don't want to take a look
They want to forget the sorrowful tragedy
Life has got to live on

The waves of sorrow
Every teardrop of misery
Of sadness and losses
Pain in remembering
