the day will change 3

The lap dogs run
Into the ground of gutter drains
Hiding there planning what to say
The days of their lives almost done

They had issued statements
Barking up the wrong trees
“Go back to the estates
Live there be contented”

One dog realizes of economy
The estates have been swallowed up
By crony companies to get wealth
Leaving the mongrels to feed on the streets

The dog barks loudly
“You are greedy
You are only for yourself
Our race you forget”

They nod their heads
“Yeah we have been used
Politically we thought we are partners
We are just the lap dogs!”

“Now what we do?”
“Quiet the dog catchers poking around
Don't be stupid to bark
You will give ourselves away”

The dog catchers shout to each other
“Do you find the damned barking dogs?”
“I think they are somewhere here
Maybe under the underground gutters”

“Bring the torchlight
Shoot into the darkness
We may catch them still”
The lap dogs huddle together

“Find anything?
I don't see any
I only see blackness”
“There are there!”

“We better close this hole
They can't run forever
Now run over the other side
Block the way we have them!”
