The little birdies flew
Out of the nest to the ground
In the afternoon of the hot sun
They thought they could fly
Away from the nest the last time
They wanted freedom
They wanted to see the world
The vast expanse the eyes could see
The wide area to explore
The world in the birdies' eyes
Lucky for the birdies
There was no stray cat around
The flight they couldn't fly high
They landed on the ground
Chirping madly away
I watched as I heard the loud tweeting
Of the birdies calling for help?
Sitting breathing and waiting to fly
They knew they couldn't take flight
I scooped the birdies up
Put them in the bird cage
The parenting birds came
Flying around showing its displeasure
Flapping wings mouthing its loud tweeting
Piercing the ears for small birds take flight
I put them back in the nest
They settled back with heavy breathing
Maybe they got scared out in the open
The dangers out there they haven't learned
The 4 little birdies
They have to wait for the youngest to grow
They can't fly now I doubt the parenting birds allow
They have to fly together into the world of their own
The evening light set
The birdies still sitting in the nest
For the day will come they will fly
Away from its nest as it should
