the mining ponds

The mining ponds
Mining the tin ore
Decades of digging
And dredging it

Now the money made
The mining ponds remain
As the legacy of of human greed
Leaving the open mines

Nature gifts
We forget to look into it
We take as much as we can
We never learn to pay it back

Now the mining ponds
The pool of green algae water
Of rain falling and rubbish throwing in
Some were reused into housing schemes

Others are left as it is
The legacy of mining industry
The money made
We forget to pay it back
