The villagers returned
To the homes of mud and broken furniture
Everything of value destroyed by water
The distress shown on their faces
Nature curses
We will never know
We are here to protect it
But we forget our dues
Now other villagers assessed damages
Some houses needed urgent repairs
Other walls cracked causing danger
It may have to pull it down
The evening rain never goes away
It rains to let others know never forget
Nature's way to settle scores
We shouldn't forget our dues
