The
midnight fire crackers
It
cracked the quiet night
The
tiring bodies hovering to rest
It
jolted out of its slumber
The
midnight nuisance
It
cracked up the dark night
With
sparks and boom boom
The
neighbourhood cried
Even
the humming birds
The
night seemed a long drag
Under
camouflage of the bamboo leaves
It
wasn't a quiet night
The
dogs and cats of strays
They
were silent in the night
Maybe
they hid somewhere
It
reminded them of something else
The
midnight fire crackers
It
got the neighbourhood wide awake
Watching
the sparkling lights and boom boom
It
never could be a quiet night
