the navy man

When he was young
The adventures in his mind
Set sailing in the navy ship
The world of sea and weather storms

The navy to toughened up
Any young men enlisted to the navy
There was no going back
The boys would be made into men

The years of unknown adventures
For the young mind it didn't matter
It was seeing the world jumping out from story books
The countries he could land and watch

Like all navy guys
The skin artists would make the lines
Of tattos to remind the lads
It was cool to show it around

In UK it was done
Then it was in Hong Kong and Philippines
The tattoos on the skin
The stories of those faraway times

When the navy life was over
The adventures he left behind
He wanted to carve a new one
Back on his home soil he did

The sailing of his time
The quiet sea and noisy ports
The bars and the adventures
It was a story while it last
