What
is this old town?
Lively
in the day of light
Shops
open business thriving
The
sound of motor vehicles
The
voices of many souls
The
vagrants will beg at 5 foot way
One
man bandaged his leg and stomach
Maybe
he should be in hospital
But
no he wants to beg
The
buses and lorries
The
drivers will not give way
They
know they have the beasts
Less
muscled vehicles have to make way
But
pedestrians can stop and decide
They
know they have the upper hand
Crossing
the traffic of busy road
At
the bus station
There
will be tired faces
Waiting
for the buses to drive away
When
the sun is setting down
When
the light will disappear until tomorrow
The
old town will recoil to its lonely existence
The
vibration of the day will be gone
The
night most of the shops close down
Leaving
the buses to services for its last trip
There
is no night entertainment
At
one of the back lanes
The
drunkards fall asleep
High
on cheap beers
The
night creeps into them
They
will not know
Day
or night as they sleep on 5 foot way
What
is this old town?
The
night web of shadows
From
the street lights
The
last bus drives away
Leaving
the pirate taxis
Picking
up the missing pasengers
