The
civil judges
Swear
to protect the Constitution
Uphold
the rule of law
Uphold
the principle of justice
The
defenders of the law
The
defenders for the people
The
defenders for the people's rights
The
defenders for giving hope to the people
But
do we get it from our civil judges?
The
important cases seem to shrink them away
They
are afraid to give sound advice and judgement
They
shifted towards the government and executive branch
The
Indira Gandhi case is a sad one
The
civil judges passed the baton to religious court
She
can't go there she isn't a Muslim
What
rights she has but to surrender?
The
Constitution is supreme
No
religious court should be above the Constitution
As
such the civil courts have its rights to hear cases
On
religious matters affecting couples of different faith
But
we don't get it
The
civil court judges refuse to pass judgement
Saying
they have no rights to interfere religious law
The
onus goes back to the religious courts
We
mustn't give up hope
Our
rights will be see the light of day
When
we put in the white knights
Salvaging
our lost dignity and rule of law
