Not everyone can go home

Some will have to stay behind

Singing their own blues

Maybe the thought will do

In any place where you stay alone

Where parents have all gone

Where immediate families have their own

You can stay at any place

Listen to the Chinese New Year songs

Telling you of the good wishes and prosperity

The joy of celebrations; the company of smiling faces

But sometimes you have to stay alone

Watching TV surfing the internet

Watching the movies playing your own songs

You know you are still better off anytime

Spare a prayer for the flood prone areas

These people don't even want to celebrate

They only think of their losses and living in tents

The joyous days have to put on hold

So not everyone can go home

Some may have to skip the reunion dinner

It is still the thought and prayers
