The
cat fish
Once
it was
Nobody
really wanted it
They
said it ate shit
Those
were the years
The
big drains living it
Flowing
out to the rivers
Where
human waste was dumped
Raining
season came
The
cat fishes flourished
Maybe
it swam from the river
To
the big drains
The
village folks would hang around
On
the bridges and near the drains
Fishing
rods and hooks threw in
Waiting
patiently for the cat fish
It
was a fun time
When
one caught in the net
Everyone
along the drains would rush in
They
wanted to see how big the cat fish was
As
age took us on
The
past time too disappeared
The
cat fishes were left to roam
In
the dirty water of the drains
The
developments came
The
landscapes changed
So
were the friends
We
went our own ways
Now
the cat fishes
It
can poke a hole in the pocket
Those
days of cheap sale
It
has gone for good
